School District
One of the biggest factors that is most commonly looked at when purchasing a home is the school district that it falls into. If you don’t have school-aged children, then this isn’t as big of a concern. If you do, then you should never look at houses that are not within the district of your choice as this could lead to making a compromise you may regret later down the road.
Commute
While you may not mind driving, you should always be sure to factor in the distance your potential new home is from your workplace. While it may only be 20 miles away, you should look at traffic flows and trends to get an accurate idea of the commute time needed to get to and from work. If you’re not up for an hour each way, then make sure to set your parameters for a specific distance from your workplace prior to setting up tours.

Bedrooms
It is easy to fall in love with the kitchen, the yard, or the living space, however, overlooking the number of bedrooms is big red flag in the real estate world. You should always write up a wish list prior to touring homes, and as tempting as it may be to give up a bedroom, try to remember the what and why behind the rooms you originally wanted. If it was to have a home gym, that might be easier to give up than a bedroom needed for an in-home office.
